Your first visit

What to expect, from the front door to the plan you leave with.

  • How long it takes

About an hour with a physical therapist. Come a few minutes early to sign in.

  • What to wear and bring

Clothes you can move in and shoes you can walk in. Bring your plan card, a photo ID and any paperwork from your doctor.

  • What happens

Your therapist asks about your week, watches you move and examines the area. They explain what they find, what the options are and any risks, and you agree on a plan together.

  • What is not decided on day one

We do not promise how long care will take. We may ask you to see your physician first if something needs checking.

A room, a table and time to talk

The first visit is mostly conversation and watching you move. Hands-on care and exercise start when you and your therapist agree on them. If you would rather bring a family member, bring them.
